Generic Lasix 40mg is a loop diuretic used to treat high blood pressureor water retention (swelling) associated with congestive heart failure, liverdisease, or kidney disease. The medicine prevents your body from absorbing toomuch salt. As a result it allows the salt to be passed in your urine. It isalso used to control high blood pressure. Generic Lasix 40mg works by increasing theamount of urine produced and excreted, and by removing excessive water (edema).

Directions

It is recommended to take according to your doctor'sinstructions. The recommended adult starting dose for treating edema is 40 mgto 80 mg. If a satisfactory result occurs within 6 hours, the dose may bedecreased or kept the same. If edema continues longer than 6 hours, the dosemay be increased by 20 mg to 40 mg. When treating hypertension (high bloodpressure), the dose of Generic Lasix 40mg starts at 20 mg to 40 mg twice a day.

Precautions

Before starting your treatment with Generic Lasix 40mg please inform yourdoctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, gout, lupus, diabetes, or anallergy to sulfa drugs.
